+400 Films and Counting: A Big Thank-You to #SEMFFEST Submitters

With more than 400 films entered from across the US and Canada during the free submissions window, we are thrilled, thankful and so extremely excited for November’s #SEMFFEST!

We have a squad of film buffs sifting through the nearly 150 hours of footage from features, shorts, documentaries and student projects. The enormous outpouring from creators has been wonderful for our entire #SEMFFEST team, and we want to thank you all.

We really cannot express how much we are looking forward to hosting the best films in November; there are some amazing pieces of art that deserve an audience as well as one of our 12 awards.

If you’re a creator and haven’t submitted your flick yet, don’t fret! While the free submission deadline has passed, you still have until Sept. 15 to enter for only $10. Entry notifications will be released at the end of September, so keep an eye on your FilmFreeway.com inboxes!

As a reminder, the inaugural Southeast Michigan Film Festival will be hosted on Nov. 2 and 3 in the 1,400-seat auditorium at Lincoln Park High School. All net proceeds will be donated to the Lincoln Park School District to help fund drama programs to help bolster young talent in our local area.

The next few weeks will continue to be busy for us, but we wouldn’t want it any other way. Your entries have been so diverse and full of life that it makes our selections difficult, and that is exactly the kind of problem we hoped to have when we started this journey almost one year ago.

Again, thank you for your time and for sharing the creative, inspiring and dynamic films on which you and your crew worked so hard.

As filmmakers ourselves, we have the utmost respect for the process and dedication it takes to get those end credits rolling, and we’re excited to be part of your story come November.

Humbly yours,
